Kavarna Alumnus Sarah Kluth

Kavarna has had many employees over the years, but one stands out for having pursued a career in coffee to an extant that frankly makes our jaws drop. Sarah Kluth (who met and married fellow Kavarna alumnus AJ Kluth) is well on her way to becoming the queen of coffee. Several years ago she moved to Chicago and began working for Intelligentsia Coffee. In a very short period of time she worked her way from being a barista at one of the United States' finest coffeehouses (Intelligentsia has this reputation) into a position in their Quality Control department. She's now one of a handful of people in this country whose job is literally to drink coffee. What's next? President of the Specialty Coffee Association of America? Here is her account of a recent trip to Peru in pursuit of coffee excellence.

Black Bean and Chipotle Chili

Made with fresh tomatoes, red peppers, onions, black beans and chipotle chili peppers, Kavarna's Chipotle and Black Bean Chili is spicy and good.

December 16, Songwriter's Showcase, 7 pm: Open Mic for Songwriter's! We've often been asked why we've never had an open mic at Kavarna. Well, it's simple. There are a lot of open mics out there already, and we wanted something a little different. The showcase is an open invitation to come and present original songs to an audience comprised of other songwriters (as well as the general public).

We send out an eNewsletter about once a month to share information of value (hopefully!) with our community, as well as to pass along special promotions and the like.
