Thick, good minestrone: tomatoes, shell noodles, beans, zucchini... a very wholesome soup! Tasty too.

Every once in awhile I come across something on the internet that makes my jaw drop. One such thing is Apple's new iTunes U content channel on iTunes. It's an astonishing resource, or at least it will be. Ten or fifteen universities, including Stanford, Duke, and UC Berkeley, are experimenting with iTunes as a vehicle for distributing course content to students and the public at large. The pickings are still a little slim, but in time it should develop into an unbelievable treasure trove for autodidacts. And it's all free. Get thee to apple.com/itunes and download a free copy of the software immediately. You don't need to have a Mac or an iPod, any old computer hooked up to the internet will do fine.
