Mulligatawny Soup
Mulligatawny Soup is probably one of the few positive things that came from the British occupation of India. I don't mean to suggest that a good soup can justify the occupation of a foreign country... it can't; but it does take the edge off. Kavarna's Mulligatawny soup is a spicy concoction of tomatoes, garbanzos, and other fine things.
